Madinah: flynas, the leading low-cost airline in the world and the best LCC in the Middle East, has announced the launch of three weekly direct flights between Prince Muhammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah and Sphinx Airport in Cairo. This new route is set to commence on December 11, further increasing the frequency of flynas flights to the Egyptian capital. The initiative aligns with flynas's growth and expansion plan, as well as the national objectives in the aviation sector. According to Saudi Press Agency, the flights will be operated on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, expanding the flynas flight network from its newest operations base at Madinah Airport. This expansion is part of flynas's strategy, "We Connect the World to the Kingdom," which supports the National Civil Aviation Strategy. This strategy aims to enable national air carriers to connect Saudi Arabia with 250 international destinations, accommodate 330 million passengers, and host 150 million tourists annually by 2030. Add itionally, it aligns with the Pilgrim Experience Program (PEP) to facilitate access to the Two Holy Mosques. Flynas currently connects Saudi Arabia to Egypt with over 120 weekly direct flights from five Saudi cities-Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Madinah, and Al-Ula-to various Egyptian destinations including Cairo, Sohag, Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, and El Alamein. With the addition of this new route, Cairo will be accessible via direct flights to both Cairo International Airport and Sphinx International Airport, which is now served by flights from Riyadh, Jeddah, and soon Madinah. Since its launch in 2007, flynas has connected more than 70 domestic and international destinations, operating over 1500 weekly flights and transporting more than 80 million passengers. The airline aims to expand to 165 domestic and international destinations, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
