Antalya: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi discussed the situation in the region and ways to strengthen joint cooperation with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Kestutis Budrys, in Antalya on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum today. According to Saudi Press Agency, during the meeting, the two sides reviewed GCC-Lithuanian and GCC-European relations, as well as areas of partnership that serve the mutual interests of both sides. They also discussed and exchanged views on several current regional and international issues. The Lithuanian foreign minister reiterated his country's condemnation of the Iranian attacks on the GCC states and expressed Lithuania's readiness to provide support to the council's states. He also extended his gratitude for the efforts made by the GCC states in evacuating Lithuanian nationals from the region. In this context, the GCC secretary-general expressed his appreciation for Lithuania's supportive stance toward the GCC. Bo th sides emphasized the significance of intensifying international and regional efforts and exploring the best ways to resolve all issues through diplomacy and dialogue, foremost among them the dangerous situation in the region and its negative repercussions on the region and the world.
