GCC Secretary-General and UK Deputy Prime Minister Discuss Strategic Partnership at Europe Gulf Forum

Riyadh: Costa Navarino Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi met with the United Kingdom's Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Justice, David Lammy, on Saturday to discuss several key topics, focusing primarily on bolstering the strategic partnership between the GCC and the United Kingdom.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the inaugural Europe Gulf Forum in Costa Navarino, Hellenic Republic. During their discussions, Albudaiwi and Lammy addressed mechanisms to overcome existing obstacles and align their perspectives on all aspects of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), setting the stage for its anticipated signing in the near future. Both parties praised the substantial progress achieved thus far in the ongoing FTA negotiations.

The meeting also covered several regional issues, with Albudaiwi acknowledging the UK's efforts and supportive stance toward GCC countries against Iranian aggressions faced by council states. Both sides emphasized the importance of unifying and intensifying international efforts to promote security and stability in the region and globally.
