Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi condemned in the strongest possible terms the blatant attack that targeted the Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Iraqi Kurdistan. Albudaiwi emphasised that this nefarious attack on the UAE Consulate constitutes a grave violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and represents a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and safety of diplomats and personnel working in such missions.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the GCC secretary-general reiterated the GCC's full support and solidarity with the brotherly UAE against this attack, reaffirming the council's firm rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that threaten security and stability in the region.
