Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi affirmed that GCC-European relations continue to advance across multiple sectors. He praised the Republic of Cyprus for its role in strengthening dialogue and partnership between the GCC and the European Union during its current presidency of the EU.
According to Saudi Press Agency, his remarks came during a luncheon hosted today in Riyadh by Ambassador of Cyprus to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Charis Moritsis, representing the country holding the current presidency of the Council of the European Union. The event was held in honor of the secretary-general and attended by ambassadors of European Union member states accredited to the Kingdom.
Albudaiwi noted that the GCC and the European Union continue to build partnerships across various fields in a manner that serves the shared interests of both sides.
