Gezira state: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli occupation forces' recognition of the Somaliland region, emphasizing that such action constitutes a dangerous violation of international law and a blatant infringement on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia. He affirmed that this recognition sets a dangerous precedent that would undermine stability in the Horn of Africa and increase tensions and conflicts, running counter to regional and international efforts to strengthen peace and security.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Secretary-General emphasized the contents of the final communiqu© of the 164th session issued by the GCC Ministerial Council, which affirmed the GCC's member states' support for the Federal Republic of Somalia in all matters that would bolster its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, thereby ensuring decent life for its brotherly people.
He called on the international community to reject this move by Israel, which tampers with international legitimacy and imposes political realities contrary to international consensus and UN resolutions, and to refrain from recognizing any entities or actions that would destabilize states' security or jeopardize their national unity.
