General Authority for Care of Two Holy Mosques Launches Project to Better Transportation Experience for Worshippers

The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has invited people wishing to submit applications for the project to improve the transportation experience in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque according to the income-sharing system. This aims to enhance the experience of pilgrims and Umrah performers and to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 by establishing and operating a convenient means of transportation to facilitate the performance of the rituals of Tawaf (Circumambulation) and Sa'i in the Grand Mosque. The project aims to create a transportation system that adapts to the privacy of the Grand Mosque and assists in offering a comprehensive experience of arrival, Tawaf and Sa'i to serve 100,000 beneficiaries daily during Hajj and Umrah seasons through the operational efficiency of the proposed means of transportation. This system aims to facilitate Tawaf and Sa'i by reducing the time required to perform the rituals and improving the level of genera l satisfaction from 78% currently to more than 90%, in addition to raising the efficiency of the worshippers' journey, starting from booking, through using the means of transportation, until the completion of Umrah, Tawaf or Sa'i, and reducing the duration of procedures and the waiting period to obtain the service. The project is expected to cover the areas of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, with the possibility of expanding to taxi drop-off points in the central area and shuttle transportation stations.
