General Staff Deputy Inaugurates International Military Medicine Conference

Riyadh: Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Fahd Al-Ghufaili inaugurated the fourth International Military Medicine Conference in Riyadh. The event, organized by the Ministry of Defense through the General Directorate of Military Medical Services, is themed 'Critical Care: Collaboration, Compassion and Commitment - Advancing Military and Aerospace Medicine Innovation.'

According to Saudi Press Agency, Director General of the General Directorate of Military Medical Services Major General Dr. Yasser Mandourah addressed attendees, emphasizing the conference's alignment with the Ministry of Defense's vision to advance the military medical system. He highlighted its role in enhancing integration with national health sectors and empowering Saudi medical professionals to excel in military and humanitarian medicine.

Major General Mandourah stated that the conference's objectives include boosting military medical readiness and improving the efficiency of field medicine, medical evacuation, and disaster management. He also mentioned the aim to develop military health policies and protocols adhering to international standards while promoting the exchange of expertise and experiences in military medicine and advanced healthcare.

The fourth edition of the conference features a robust scientific program with over 20 specialized sessions and workshops. These involve a distinguished group of local and international speakers from 32 countries. Additionally, the event includes two accompanying scientific conferences: the inaugural Aerospace and Diving Medicine Conference and the 14th Annual Conference of the Saudi Critical Care Society (SCCS).
