Riyadh: The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) has appointed Georgios Donis as head coach of the Saudi national team through July 2027, succeeding Hervé Renard after the settlement of the contractual relationship between the two parties. According to Saudi Press Agency, Donis brings extensive coaching experience in the Roshn Saudi League, having coached Al Hilal, Al Wehda, Al Fateh, and most recently Al Khaleej, in addition to previous stints with Greek clubs including AEK FC and PAOK FC. The Saudi national team is preparing for the fourth and final phase of its program for the FIFA World Cup 2026, to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. SAFF will hold a press conference in Riyadh with the national team's technical staff before the squad departs for its final training camp in the United States.
