Gulf Achievements Forum Aims to Highlight GCC Accomplishments

Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Albudaiwi, affirmed that the ultimate objective of holding the Gulf Achievements Forum is to enhance awareness of the achievements that were never merely temporary accomplishments or economic indicators, but rather the result of an integrated Gulf system through which the founding leaders of the GCC, and the Leaders of the GCC countries, have sought over past and present decades, to transform challenges into opportunities through integration across all areas of joint Gulf action.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi stated that this has directly contributed to improving the quality of life of GCC citizens, enhancing their welfare and stability, and strengthening the standing of the GCC regionally and internationally. This statement was made during his patronage and attendance of the Gulf Achievements Forum, organized by the General Secretariat of the GCC in cooperation with the Gulf Radio and Television Organization (GRTO) at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh. The forum was attended by senior media officials from GCC countries, specialists, and GCC students studying at universities in Saudi Arabia.

In his speech, Albudaiwi highlighted the significance of the forum as a preparation for the upcoming celebration of the 45th anniversary of the GCC's establishment, marking its journey since May 25, 1981. He extended congratulations to the leaders of the GCC countries for their continuous support and patronage of joint Gulf action across various fields.

Albudaiwi emphasized the importance of unity and cohesion among GCC countries, noting that joint Gulf action has evolved into a strategic necessity due to current regional and global challenges. He credited the achievements of the GCC to an ambitious strategic vision and continuous coordination among its member countries, which have enabled them to build a balanced Gulf model that preserves identity while embracing global economic transformations.

He expressed pride in the GCC's achievements in political integration, military and security cooperation, economic integration, infrastructure, digital transformation, and other vital sectors that have enhanced the region's competitiveness and consolidated its position as an influential regional and international hub.

Albudaiwi highlighted that the GCC citizen remains the focus and ultimate objective of development, with achievements impacting their lives through freedom of movement, employment, ownership, investment, education, and healthcare across GCC countries, embodying the true meaning of Gulf unity.

He concluded by emphasizing the need for intensified joint efforts and strengthened integration to build a globally competitive Gulf economy, thereby consolidating the GCC's position as an influential global partner in shaping the future economy and sustainable development. Albudaiwi stated that the GCC countries have become a global strategic force, creating opportunities and models of development, prosperity, security, and stability.
