Health Ministry and Weqaya Roll Out Multilingual Hajj Awareness Guide to Enhance Pilgrims’ Health Safety

Riyadh: The Ministry of Health and the Public Health Authority (Weqaya) have launched an awareness guide in eight languages for the Hajj season 1447 AH, as part of efforts to strengthen prevention and raise health awareness among pilgrims. This aligns with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030, by providing tailored content of all stages of the pilgrim's health journey, starting with pre-Hajj requirements.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the guide provides extensive coverage of health prevention during the Hajj season, including protection against heat exhaustion and heatstroke, alongside detailed guidance to limit respiratory infections, enhancing health safety in high-density settings.

It also includes first aid instructions, outlining rapid response steps to improve pilgrims' ability to handle emergencies before accessing medical care.

The guide gives particular attention to priority groups by offering tailored advice and precise guidance for managing their health during Hajj, helping reduce potential complications and support stability while performing the rituals, in addition to guidance aimed at ensuring food safety and preventing foodborne illness.

The Ministry of Health and Weqaya said the awareness guides are available in eight languages-Arabic, English, French, Urdu, Persian, Indonesian, Turkish, and Malay-helping deliver health messages to pilgrims of different nationalities.

They affirmed continued efforts to develop awareness content to promote preventive behaviors, enhance pilgrims' health preparedness, and enable them to perform rituals in a safe environment, urging pilgrims to review the guide via the provided link.
