Health Ministry Launches Comprehensive Health Awareness Campaign for Hajj Pilgrims

Riyadh: As part of preparations for the 1447 AH Hajj season, the Ministry of Health, through its 'Health Hajj' campaign, released an educational video across its digital platforms aimed at highlighting the efforts of the healthcare system, introducing services provided to pilgrims, and promoting preventive health awareness to help pilgrims perform rituals in good health and peace of mind. The initiative aligns with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the video is presented in a creative format and depicts the experience of a pilgrim, highlighting the consequences of failing to follow health guidelines, particularly neglecting the use of umbrellas to prevent sunstroke and heat exhaustion. The content reinforces awareness messages related to preventive behaviors during the Hajj season.

The initiative forms part of a comprehensive awareness campaign implemented by the Ministry of Health, reflecting integrated efforts across the health sector and delivering unified messages that showcase the readiness and efficiency of healthcare services provided during Hajj. It also explains how pilgrims can access these services while promoting a positive public image of the healthcare system.

The campaign is based on an integrated communication strategy that includes producing diverse digital media content, media coverage, and awareness billboards. It also leverages social media platforms and partnerships with influencers to expand outreach to target audiences, including pilgrims, citizens, residents, media organizations, and partners within the Hajj ecosystem.

The campaign focuses on preventive health awareness, particularly in relation to heat exhaustion and sunstroke prevention, while promoting healthy behaviors that support pilgrim safety and enhance the overall health experience during Hajj rituals within a comprehensive framework involving all health authorities according to their areas of specialization.
