Hebron Municipality launches the local development plan 2023-2026

The Hebron Municipality held, in the Childhood Happiness Complex, the “Second Open House” meeting to launch the local development plan for the years 2023-2026, “a modern, green, flexible and sustainable city that is proud of its heritage and authenticity.”

This plan was prepared with the support of the Local Authorities Development and Lending Fund within the Capacity Development Program, with the participation of the Mayor of Hebron, Tayseer Abu Sneineh, a number of members of the Municipal Council, and the Director of the Local Government Directorate in Hebron, M. Rashid Awad and the representative of Hebron Governorate, Eng. Louay Al-Qaisi, Faed Awashra, representative of the Peelers consulting company, representatives of local community institutions, citizens, and interested parties from all segments of society.

A documentary film was shown about the stages of preparing the plan, in which the Director of the Strategic Planning and International Relations Unit, Allam Al-Ashhab, explained that this plan was prepared in accordance with the strategic planning guide prepared by the Ministry of Local Government and the Local Authorities Development and Lending Fund for the year 2018 and its amendments for the year 2022, which included the following: Linking strategic planning to the 20/30 Sustainable Development Goals, including amendments related to climate adaptation, attention to the environment, the women and youth sector, resilience and sustainability.

In his speech, Abu Sneineh stressed that the Municipal Council has set its sights since taking over the municipal administration to work with the participation of the local community to develop a realistic and applicable local development plan in order to develop and improve the services provided to citizens. With success, explaining that the plan aims to meet the aspirations and aspirations and needs of the local community, indicating that the Municipal Council, by approving this plan, pledges to make every effort to implement the plan in order to develop the city of Hebron in a manner commensurate with its religious, historical and tourist status, thanking all the committees that contributed to the production of this plan To the light, appreciating the financial and moral support of the Ministry of Local Government and the Local Government Development and Lending Fund.

Engineer Al-Qaisi congratulated this achievement, congratulating the people of the city of Hebron on this step that is in the interest of the citizen and the city, indicating that the governorate aspires to reach a modern, sustainable and flexible governorate, indicating the importance of the plan being consistent with the spatial strategic plan, expressing the governorate’s readiness to support the implementation of all programs and projects that It is included in the plan in all its stages.

In turn, Engineer Awad expressed his happiness with the completion of this plan for the city of Hebron, which is suffering greatly because of the occupation and its settlers, stressing the importance of the plan, which will be reflected in the quality of services and enhance citizens’ satisfaction. He praised the great role played by the municipality, including the municipal council and various crews, in completing the plan, thanking the “Pillars” company. Advisory Council for their efforts, appreciating the efforts of the Local Authorities Development and Lending Fund.

Awashra thanked everyone’s efforts that contributed to preparing the plan, expressing his happiness in working with the Hebron Municipality crews and representatives of the various sectors in the city of Hebron, wishing the municipality success in implementing the plan’s projects that meet the aspirations and needs of the community.

At the end of the meeting, the mayor honored committee members from various departments and divisions of the municipality, in appreciation of their efforts during the plan preparation period.
