Makkah: The Hira Cultural District in Makkah represents one of the most prominent cultural and knowledge destinations that recalls the history of revelation and Islamic heritage through a modern framework combining interactive content and historical documentation. Its cultural facilities and specialized exhibitions enrich the visitor experience and enhance civilizational and cultural awareness, especially on International Museum Day, observed annually on May 18.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Holy Quran Museum at the Hira Cultural District is considered one of the district's most prominent cultural landmarks, offering a knowledge journey documenting the history of writing and preserving the Holy Quran throughout different Islamic eras through rare collections, manuscripts, and historical copies of the Holy Quran.
The district also includes the Revelation Exhibition, which presents an interactive experience reviewing the story of the revelation to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Hira Cave, in addition to content documenting aspects of social, cultural, and architectural life in Islamic history.
The Hira Cultural District contributes to boosting cultural and intellectual activity in Makkah through providing a comprehensive educational experience that combines the historical dimension with modern technologies, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 targets for developing the cultural sector and enhancing the presence of museums and exhibitions as knowledge platforms preserving civilizational heritage and introducing it to generations and visitors from around the world.
