Madinah: Historical sources confirm that the Arees Well in Quba, also known as the Well of the Ring, is one of the most famous sites associated with the Prophet Muhammad's life in Madinah. A narration in Sahih Al-Bukhari records that the Prophet sat by the well and gave the caliphs Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman glad tidings of Paradise, thereby giving the location a revered place in Islamic history.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the silver ring, inscribed with "Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah," was used by the Prophet to seal official letters. Following his death, the ring passed to Abu Bakr, then Umar, and finally Uthman.
Around 30 AH, the ring accidentally fell from Uthman's hand into the well. An extensive search over several days failed to retrieve it, making the event one of the most notable occurrences in early Islamic Madinah.
