Riyadh: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) today concluded a series of specialized programs and workshops in the ideological field carried out in the Republic of the Maldives, as part of its strategic initiatives to develop national capacities in countering extremism and strengthening intellectual security under its 'Prevention' initiative.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the final day featured a lecture titled 'Manifestations of Ideological Extremism and Its Risks,' delivered by Professor of Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) at the College of Shari'ah and Islamic Studies at Umm Al-Qura University Prof. Aref Al-Rikabi. The session served as the last activity of the program and was attended by officials from the Maldives' Ministry of Defence, Maldives Police Service, and Maldives Customs Service.
The lecture focused on analyzing key early indicators of extremism, explaining how deviant behaviors emerge within educational and social environments, and highlighting the risks extremism poses to societal security and stability.
Concluding its program at the ideological level in the Maldives, IMCTC reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to supporting member states with advanced, high-quality programs that help promote moderation and boost national frameworks for countering extremism across various fields.
