Industry Minister Highlights Saudi Arabia’s Role as Global Mineral Bridge

Istanbul: Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef participated in the 'G7-OECD' ministerial session held as part of the Critical Minerals Forum, organized by the OECD in Istanbul, emphasizing Saudi Arabia's strategic potential to serve as a connecting hub between global mineral producers and consumers.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Alkhorayef highlighted that Saudi Arabia's geographic position and economic influence uniquely position it to facilitate connections between regions that produce and consume minerals. The Kingdom is actively working to strengthen this strategic role by establishing quality partnerships, engaging in multilateral dialogues, enhancing international cooperation, and supporting the development of global mineral supply chains, especially as demand increases in the energy and technology sectors.

Alkhorayef also mentioned the Future Minerals Forum, an annual event hosted by Saudi Arabia, as a significant platform for global dialogue and cooperation in the mining sector. This forum plays a critical role in aligning international efforts, emphasizing the importance of securing minerals, and reinforcing the resilience of related supply chains.

In closing his address, Minister Alkhorayef extended an invitation to the participating ministers to attend the upcoming sixth edition of the Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh early next year. He reiterated that the forum remains a vital global platform for fostering partnerships and supporting the sustainability of mineral supply chains.
