Meknes: International Dates Council (IDC) Executive Director Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Morocco's Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari, to collaborate in advancing the date palm sector. The agreement was finalized during the 18th International Agriculture Show (SIAM) in Meknes.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the agreement aims to enhance cooperation in the development of the date palm sector. This includes exchanging expertise and sharing statistical and technical data pertinent to the industry. The MoU also seeks to strengthen technical cooperation and capacity building through joint training programs and courses focused on integrated date palm pest management. Additionally, the collaboration will encourage scientific research and innovation to address the impact of climate change on date palm cultivation.
Princess Sarah emphasized IDC's ambition to enhance the exchange of experiences and expertise with Morocco, underlining t shared objective of promoting the global importance and value of dates.
