Riyadh: The International Falcon Breeders Auction, organized by the National Center for Falcons, will begin tomorrow and run from August 5 to 25 at the center's headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the auction is the first event organized by the center since its restructuring by the Cabinet, marking a new phase in the development of the Kingdom's falconry sector. It aims to foster strategic partnerships and strengthen Saudi Arabia's position as a leading global hub for falconry.
The center has completed preparations for pavilions showcasing local and international breeding farms, the main auction platform, and exhibitors of falconry equipment. Shipments of falcons from international breeding farms have already begun arriving at the auction venue from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, France, Slovenia, Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic, Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Austria, the Netherlands, Romania, and Ireland.
The auction brings together local and international falconers, buyers, and investors in a specialized marketplace, creating opportunities to expand trade, exchange expertise, and support the continued growth of Saudi Arabia's falconry sector. The previous edition featured 1,103 falcons from 67 breeding farms representing 23 countries, including 19 Saudi farms. The event generated sales of more than SAR13 million.
