The Israeli army said on Thursday that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar may have been killed in the recent raid on Jabalia in the Gaza Strip, "noting that it is "examining the DNA of a body believed to be Sinwar's." The statement added that "during an activity by the IDF forces in the Gaza Strip, " three elements were eliminated, confirming at this stage, the identity of the elements cannot be confirmed definitively. The statement indicated that "there are no indications in the building of the presence of kidnapped persons in the area," noting that the IDF and Shin Bet forces continue to operate in the field under the required cautionary measures.
