Japanese Stocks Close Mixed Amid Advantest Decline

Tokyo: The Japanese stock market closed mixed today, pressured by a decline in shares of Advantest, a supplier to Nvidia.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Nikkei 225 fell 0.2% to 66,131.98 points. Meanwhile, the broader TOPIX index saw a slight increase, rising by 0.15% to close at 4,117.22 points. The contrasting movements in these indices reflect the varied performance of individual sectors within the market.

The decline in Advantest shares, which significantly impacted market sentiment, was a key factor influencing the Nikkei's downturn. Despite this, gains in other sectors contributed to the rise in the TOPIX, highlighting the mixed nature of today's trading session.
