Jazan Launches Major Afforestation Projects to Plant 2.5 Million Trees

Jazan: Jazan Governor Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Abdulaziz sponsored the inauguration ceremony of two major environmental projects at the Prince Sultan Cultural Center aimed at planting 2.5 million trees across the region.

According to Saudi Press Agency, these initiatives, managed by the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification, include planting two million native trees in forested areas and 500,000 mangroves at Al-Sumairat Beach to enhance coastal protection.

Representing a significant step for the Saudi Green Initiative and Vision 2030, the projects use scientific methodologies to manage 500 million square meters of vegetation, aiming to restore ecological balance and improve quality of life.

During the ceremony, the governor honored participating government and private entities for their contributions to the National Greening Season, reinforcing Jazan's commitment to preserving natural resources for future generations.
