Jeddah Municipality Implements Sanitation Plan During Hajj Season

Jeddah: Jeddah Municipality is implementing its operational sanitation plan during the 1447 AH Hajj season through an integrated ecosystem and modern technologies to improve the urban landscape along roads leading to Makkah and provide a clean, safe environment for pilgrims, visitors, and residents.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the plan is implemented in three phases: the first focuses on roads leading to Makkah and parking areas; the second covers Eid prayer areas and slaughter waste removal; and the third restores site efficiency and intensifies operations in markets and vital facilities.

Phase one operations during May included cleaning 2,624,798 square meters of open land, 168,130 kilometers of manual cleaning, 56,640 kilometers of mechanical cleaning, collecting 64,488 cubic meters of bulky waste, cleaning 13,499 kilometers of highways, and sanitizing 24,192 waste containers, using the Madinati digital platform, CLN decision support system, smart landfill system, and AVL vehicle tracking system.
