Jeddah: July sees the appearance of prominent summer stars, led by Arcturus, alongside the Summer Triangle featuring Vega and Altair, while the Scorpius and Sagittarius constellations point toward the center of the Milky Way Galaxy, where its luminous band and the Coalsack Nebula can be observed from dark locations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Jeddah Astronomy Society Director Majed Abu Zahra noted that July 2026 is rich in astronomical phenomena. Notable objects include the globular cluster Messier 13 in Hercules, containing hundreds of thousands of stars at more than 25,000 light-years, and Omega Centauri, containing millions of stars and believed to be the remnant core of a dwarf galaxy that merged with the Milky Way. This offers Arab world astronomy enthusiasts a special opportunity to enjoy the night sky.
