King Abdulaziz Airport Secures Triple ACI Accolades for Sustainability and Safety

Jeddah: King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) received three international distinctions from Airports Council International (ACI) during the ACI Asia-Pacific and Middle East Regional Assembly, Conference and Exhibition (RACE) 2026. The distinctions cover sustainability and safety, highlighting the airport's operational progress, environmental performance, and enhanced safety standards. They also reinforce its position as a global aviation hub connecting the Kingdom to the world.

According to Saudi Press Agency, among the recognitions received by Jeddah Airports Company was Level 4 (Transformation) accreditation under the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program. The accreditation reflects KAIA's commitment to reducing carbon emissions, adopting global best practices, and advancing toward net-zero targets in line with the Aviation Program and Saudi Vision 2030.

KAIA also received the Green Airports Recognition 2026 for climate change adaptation in recognition of innovative initiatives in water efficiency, afforestation, and nature-based solutions. The recognition highlights the airport's environmental leadership in addressing the challenges of a desert climate.

The airport additionally received the ACI Safety Recognition Award 2026 (Silver) for effective runway safety initiatives and operational innovation, becoming the first airport in the Middle East to receive the award. The milestone further reinforces its global safety standing.
