King Salman Reserve Authority Awarded IUCN Certificate for Technological Innovation

Riyadh: The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve has achieved a significant milestone by being awarded the Technological Innovation Certificate from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). This award marks the reserve as the first in the Middle East and West Asia to be recognized for its technological advancements in conservation efforts.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this recognition has been made possible through a strategic collaboration between the reserve and stc, utilizing Huawei's Tech4Nature initiative. This partnership has resulted in the implementation of an advanced smart monitoring system that leverages artificial intelligence and cutting-edge communication technologies.

The newly introduced technology plays a pivotal role in wildlife conservation by enabling precise monitoring through smart cameras. These cameras provide real-time observation, facilitate data analysis, and ensure continuous biodiversity tracking around the clock. The system's capacity to identify and monitor wildlife movements within their natural habitats aids in environmental research and enhances the accuracy of wildlife population tracking.
