Kingdom’s Charg© d’Affaires in Libya Meets with UN Special Representative

Tripoli: Charg© d'Affaires of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Libya Abdullah Al-Sulami met with Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) Hanna Tetteh, and Deputy Special Representative for Political Affairs at UNSMIL Stephanie Koury. During the meeting, they exchanged views on Libya's latest developments and discussed the special representative's briefing to the UN Security Council on October 14. They also addressed the UN mission's political roadmap to unify Libyan institutions and hold national elections.

According to Saudi Press Agency, both parties agreed that Libyan institutions must drive the roadmap forward and that dialogue should lead to shared interests. They stressed the need to coordinate international support for the UN-facilitated political process.

The special representative of the secretary-general thanked the Kingdom for its continued cooperation and support, commending Saudi Arabia's efforts to promote peace and development globally.
