Riyadh: The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) has launched the fourth edition of the Harf Competition for non-Arab Arabic-speaking students enrolled at educational institutions in Saudi Arabia. Applications for the competition, which gives Arabic learners of different nationalities an opportunity to showcase their language skills in a competitive setting, are open until September 20.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Harf effectively seeks to strengthen the presence of Arabic among non-native learners and deepen their engagement with the language through learning, performance, and practice. The academy added that the fourth edition builds on the broad participation in previous editions, reflecting its efforts to promote a contemporary approach to Arabic education centered on intellectual and cultural competition for learners from around the world.
The competition also aims to highlight the beauty and richness of Arabic through diverse knowledge-based and performance formats. It strengthens learners' confidence in expressing themselves in Arabic while providing a competitive environment that nurtures their creativity and opens up opportunities for excellence across various Arabic language skills.
The initiative is part of KSGAAL's efforts to support the objectives of the Human Capability Development Program by building a network of Arabic language ambassadors who can carry the language's cultural and technological impact from Saudi Arabia to their home countries. It broadens opportunities to learn and teach Arabic as a language of knowledge and human communication.
