Geneva: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) participated in a panel discussion on the Global Islamic Fund for Refugees (GIFR) on the sidelines of the Global Refugee Forum (GFR) Progress Review 2025 in Geneva. The forum, organized by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), took place from December 15 to 17.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Hana Omar, the Advisor to KSrelief Supervisor General and Director of the Partnerships and International Relations Department, represented the center at the panel. Dr. Omar emphasized that KSrelief's partnership with UNHCR and its contribution to the GIFR demonstrate the center's commitment to sustainable and long-term solutions for displaced and host communities. She urged for the exploration of ways to strengthen humanitarian efforts amidst growing challenges and the increasing number of refugees and displaced persons.
Furthermore, she stressed the importance of engaging donors, maximizing the impact of aid, and developing sustainable solutions. Dr. Omar pointed out the need for new funding models that strengthen trust, ensure transparency and accountability, and increase the effectiveness of humanitarian assistance, which would enhance the international community's response to worsening humanitarian crises.
KSrelief's participation signifies Saudi Arabia's ongoing commitment to addressing global refugee issues and promoting international cooperation to ensure refugees can live with dignity.
