Baidoa: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has successfully rehabilitated the Omar bin Al-Khattab Orphan Care Center in the Baidoa Governorate, located in the South West State of the Federal Republic of Somalia. As part of this initiative, KSrelief distributed 280 school bags and an equal number of school uniforms to 280 children, under the broader project aimed at restoring and supporting orphan care centers and promoting the economic empowerment of their families in Somalia.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the project involves the rehabilitation and equipping of orphan care centers, preparation of classrooms, and provision of essential school supplies. Additionally, the initiative includes training programs for mothers who are the primary earners in orphan families, equipping them with sewing skills and providing sewing machines to bolster their economic independence. This project is designed to benefit a total of 905 children across four orphan care centers and 200 breadwinner mothers in the South West State and Galmudug State.
The overarching goal of the project is to enhance the quality of life for orphaned children by creating a secure environment and empowering their families. This empowerment is aimed at facilitating social stability and fostering self-sufficiency among the families involved.
