The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) today presented four rehabilitated schools in Abyan to the Yemeni Ministry of Education as part of the emergency response project to ensure access to a safe and comprehensive educational environment in Yemen.

The rehabilitation process included additional classrooms, rehabilitating water and sanitation facilities, and providing water refrigerators for students.

The Yemeni Ministry of Education Undersecretary for the Projects and Equipment Sector, Salem Saleh Yamor, appreciated the developmental support provided by KSrelief to enhance the role of education by establishing classrooms and rehabilitating schools to create an appropriate educational environment.

The project comes within the framework of the Kingdom’s grant to support the humanitarian response plan in Yemen. Under the project, 28 classrooms will be expanded, ten schools will be rehabilitated, educational tools will be provided to the staff in 20 schools, and psychological and educational support activities will be given to 40 trainees.

The rehabilitation project is expected to benefit more than 16,000 male and female students in Lahj, Abyan, Al-Dhale, and Taiz governorates.

The project comes within the framework of the Kingdom’s efforts, through KSrelief, to support the Yemeni education sector and improve its conditions across the country.
