Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday signed a memorandum of Contribution with Al Fozan Social Foundation program to fund a project for the rehabilitation of 10 damaged schools in the Rif Dimashq and Homs governorates of the Syrian Arab Republic, benefiting 20,071 individuals. The memorandum was signed at the center's headquarters in Riyadh by KSrelief Assistant Supervisor-General for Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz and the program's secretary-general, Mahmoud bin Mohammed Al-Shami.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the project involves rehabilitating the 10 targeted schools in Rif Dimashq and Homs and equipping them with solar power, aiming to ensure the reactivation of their educational roles and create a suitable and safe environment for students and teachers. The project falls under the program for restoring and enhancing educational assets in Syria, where around 40 specialized projects are currently being implemented to rehabilitate and build schools across various Syrian governorates.
The project is part of the humanitarian and relief efforts provided by the Kingdom through KSrelief, which aim to provide a safe and appealing learning environment, improve school infrastructure, and support the private sector in implementing specialized humanitarian projects and programs.
