Kuwait city: Kuwait strongly condemned Iran's targeting of the Saudi tanker Wedyan while crossing the Strait of Hormuz, describing it as a serious violation of international law and a threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and the stability of global energy supplies.
According to Saudi Press Agency, in a statement issued today, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Kuwait's steadfast position in support of the security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The ministry expressed its strong rejection of any aggression or actions that threaten the Kingdom's security, interests, or resources.
The ministry called for an immediate halt to such Iranian attacks and stressed the importance of pursuing de-escalation, respecting international law, and safeguarding freedom of maritime navigation in a manner that preserves regional security and the stability of vital waterways.
