Liberian President Receives CEO of SFD

Riyadh: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai of the Republic of Liberia received Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Sultan Al-Marshad and his accompanying delegation on the sidelines of his visit to participate in the inauguration of the Gbarnga-Salayea Road Project in Liberia, which the SFD is financing through a $20 million development loan.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the meeting, Al-Marshad stated that his visit to the country reflects the longstanding development partnership between the two sides, spanning more than 48 years. During that period, the SFD has financed four development projects and programs in Liberia through concessional development loans totaling more than $58.8 million, supporting vital sectors and advancing the country's sustainable development efforts.

Separately, Al-Marshad met with Minister of Finance and Development Planning Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan in the presence of Minister of Public Works Roland Layfette, as well as Minister of Foreign Affairs Sara Beysolow Nyanti, to discuss ways to strengthen development cooperation and review issues of mutual interest.
