Tunisia: The Libraries Commission participated in the Arab Manuscript Day 2026 celebration, organized yesterday in Tunisia by the Institute of Arabic Manuscripts, affiliated with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO). Held under the theme "The Arabic Manuscript: A Journey of Transformation and Renewal," the event brought together experts, researchers, and specialists from scientific, cultural, and heritage institutions across the Arab world.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the commission's participation is part of its efforts to support the library sector, strengthen the Kingdom's presence at Arab cultural and knowledge forums, and exchange expertise and practices in preserving Arabic manuscripts and intellectual heritage and making them accessible to future generations.
The 14th edition of Arab Manuscript Day highlights the scientific and civilizational value of Arabic manuscripts and raises awareness of the importance of preserving them and making them accessible. It also explores opportunities to use modern technologies to preserve manuscript heritage and pass it on to future generations.
