The ministry emphasized that the impact of local figs extends beyond fresh consumption to include processing industries, as they are widely used in the production of sweets, juices, ice cream, and health and cosmetic products. This contributes to enhancing the added value of the crop and increasing its role in strengthening the food security system, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

It also noted the growing support provided to local farmers and producers, based on their comparative advantage, through an integrated system of technical and advisory services, financing facilities, and marketing programs.
