Madinah Governor Chairs Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah Meeting

Madinah: Madinah Governor and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah in the region, Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, emphasized that serving pilgrims is a great honor and responsibility that receives the full care and support of the Saudi leadership. He stressed the importance of early planning, strengthening coordination among relevant entities, and enhancing operational readiness to ensure the highest quality services for visitors to the Prophet's Mosque.

According to Saudi Press Agency, his remarks came as he chaired a meeting of the committee, attended by Deputy Governor of Madinah Region and Deputy Chairman of the committee Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Abdulfattah bin Sulaiman Mashat, and representatives of relevant government entities. The meeting reviewed sector readiness and operational plans for the 1448 AH Umrah season.

During the meeting, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah presented season indicators, statistics on Umrah visas and pilgrim arrivals, and key initiatives and recent developments. Madinah Municipality also reviewed its operational readiness, including plans for cleaning and environmental sanitation, oversight of commercial activities, and the preparedness of roads, tunnels, and bridges.

The committee discussed several agenda items and issued the necessary recommendations to strengthen coordination among relevant authorities and ensure the delivery of the highest standards of service to pilgrims and visitors to the Prophet's Mosque.
