Makkah Border Guard Apprehends Violator of Maritime Activity Regulations

Jeddah: Coastal patrols of the Border Guard in Jeddah Governorate, Makkah Region, have apprehended a Jordanian resident for violating regulations of security and safety for those involved in maritime activities in the marine areas in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the violator was apprehended for fishing without a permit and using prohibited equipment. Legal measures were taken against him in coordination with the relevant authorities.

The Border Guard urged everyone to comply with regulations and instructions aimed at protecting marine resources and to report any violations affecting the environment or wildlife.

The Border Guard said reports can be made by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and Eastern regions, and 994, 999 or 996 in other parts of the Kingdom, adding that all reports are treated with strict confidentiality and without liability for the caller.
