Makkah: The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites has launched an awareness campaign to highlight Makkah's historical and cultural landmarks and their religious and civilizational significance, enriching visitors' knowledge while strengthening their connection to the city's rich heritage.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the campaign supports the commission's strategy to preserve heritage, enhance cultural value, and transform historical sites into sustainable educational and cultural destinations in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The strategy has resulted in the development and rehabilitation of dozens of sites, the documentation of 60 landmarks, the opening of 27 sites to visitors, and the establishment of seven visitor centers. More than 17.5 million visitors have explored these sites, reporting a 97.5% satisfaction rate that reflects the quality of services and the success of preservation and development efforts.
