Makkah Marks Earth Day by Reaffirming Commitment to Environmental Protection

Makkah: The holy city of Makkah is marking Earth Day, observed annually on April 22, through a series of environmental initiatives and awareness programs.

According to Saudi Press Agency, relevant authorities are implementing initiatives to enhance waste management efficiency, reduce pollution, protect the environment, and promote sustainability by addressing climate change, safeguarding biodiversity, and improving the urban landscape.

The Holy Makkah Municipality has intensified its efforts to develop the public cleanliness system by adopting modern technologies for waste collection and treatment, in addition to promoting recycling initiatives.
