Mangoes Add Distinctive Eid Flavor to Jazan Hospitality

Jazan: This year, Jazan is reshaping the details of its hospitality with a distinctive summer flavor. As mango season coincides with Eid Al-Adha, the golden fruit appears to rival traditional Eid sweets on family tables and in gatherings, with boxes exchanged among relatives, chilled juices taking center stage in hospitality, and homemade dishes featuring mango as a seasonal flavor closely associated with the festive season and family reunions.

According to Saudi Press Agency, several vendors and farmers stressed that the overlap of the mango season with Eid Al-Adha led to increased demand for mangoes, whether for household consumption or as gifts for relatives and visitors. They noted that some families have begun favoring fresh mango juices and mango-based desserts at Eid gatherings, reflecting evolving seasonal hospitality.

Jazan Region is considered one of the Kingdom's leading mango-producing areas, with more than one million trees and over 60 varieties. The harvest season usually begins in April and peaks in May and June, making mangoes a prominent feature of the region's economic and social landscape, especially during holiday seasons and family gatherings.
