Yemen: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Masam Project for clearing landmines in Yemen successfully removed 2,285 mines and explosive remnants of war during the second week of May. This effort spanned across various regions of Yemen, demonstrating a significant stride towards enhancing civilian safety.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the recent clearance included 172 anti-tank mines, 145 anti-personnel mines, 1,964 unexploded ordnance items, and four improvised explosive devices. The initiative aims to mitigate the risks posed by mines that were planted indiscriminately across the country, threatening innocent lives, including children, women, and the elderly.

The number of mines removed since the beginning of May has increased to 3,124. Since the launch of the Masam Project, the cumulative total of cleared mines has reached 561,140. Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm KSrelief, continues its commitment to the project, focusing on restoring safety and security for the Yemeni population.
