Mawani Adds New MSC Shipping Service to Jeddah Islamic Port, King Abdullah Port

Jeddah: The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has added the Mediterranean Shipping Company's (MSC) Middle East Express service, connecting Europe to the Red Sea, to Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdullah Port in Rabigh, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance maritime connectivity with global ports and support national trade in cooperation with major international shipping lines.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the service links Jeddah Islamic Port to several global ports, including Gdansk, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Val¨ncia, Barcelona, and Gioia Tauro, with a capacity of up to 16,000 standard containers. It will also be connected via land transport from King Abdullah Port to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, with onward distribution to Arabian Gulf countries via feeder ships.

This initiative supports supply chain integration and regional logistical connectivity, and aligns with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy's objectives to position the Kingdom as a global logistics hub connecting three continents.
