Riyadh: The naval exercise 'Medusa-14' commenced in the Arab Republic of Egypt, featuring the participation of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) alongside units from Egypt, Greece, Cyprus, and France.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the exercise is designed to enhance the readiness of naval units in conducting maritime interception operations and addressing asymmetric threats. The exercise also focuses on strengthening capabilities for sub-surface and surface operations, as well as improving naval air defense.
The exercise aims to bolster the capabilities of naval special forces in carrying out special missions and search-and-rescue operations. It also provides training for naval aviation in planning and executing air operations against maritime targets. The exercise facilitates information exchange, builds the naval and aerial tactical picture, and implements communication procedures of all types.
The participation of Saudi Arabia is part of the Ministry of Defense's efforts to develop the naval training system. This initiative aims to enhance the readiness of the RSNF and its ability to respond to regional and international challenges and changes.
