MEP, BEDIC Conferences Tackle Sustainable Practices in MEP

The International Conference on Mechanics, Electricity, and Plumbing (MEP) and the Building Envelope Design and Insulation Conference (BEDIC) started here yesterday, focusing on developing these sectors to meet the growing demand and achieve the highest possible benefit.

Members of the National Committee for the Saudi Building Code and the Saudi Council of Engineers, and prominent experts in the construction and building sector are attending the two-day conferences where the future of mechanics, electricity, plumbing, building envelope, and insulation sectors, which support the mega projects, is being discussed.

The events also explore the future of the construction sector, and how to leverage mechanics, electricity, and plumbing to drive significant developments.

The first day of the conferences covered a wide range of topics on sustainable energy solutions and smart construction technologies, emphasizing innovations and modern technologies in these fields, including innovative technology for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, and strategies for achieving zero carbon emissions, to enhance energy efficiency and reduce the impact on the environment.

The sessions also touched on digital innovations and the impact of AI on the design and manufacturing of smart mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, which helps improve energy management and consumption. Also discussed were sustainable practices in MEP, with focus on solutions that reduce energy and water consumption to achieve long-term sustainability.

Participants discussed integrating renewable energy solutions in MEP, conserving water through innovative plumbing designs, as well as the design of building envelopes, facades, and insulation, and sustainable and energy-efficient building solutions, consistent with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The conferences provide a strategic platform for professionals and specialists to engage, network, and collaborate on solutions that will shape the future of the urban environment, since they bring together specialists, major project owners, developers, architects, MEP consultants, and contractors.
