Mecca: The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) achieved an accuracy rate exceeding 98% between its weather forecasts and real-time atmospheric readings across the holy sites during the 1447 AH Hajj season, highlighting the high efficiency of national personnel who monitored weather variables and phenomena around the clock to safeguard pilgrims.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this exceptional precision was driven by a comprehensive network of 21 automatic field stations, providing 100% geographical coverage of the holy sites alongside manned stations in Mina and Arafat, weather radars, and satellites.
Furthermore, artificial intelligence techniques embedded within numerical models played a significant role in enhancing forecasting accuracy, generating proactive, real-time data that directly supported the logistical decision-making of participating operational and service entities.
