Jeddah: The Middle East Endocrine, Diabetes and Obesity Congress (MEDOC26) opened in Jeddah, organized by the Saudi Scientific Diabetes Society. According to Saudi Press Agency, the scientific congress is part of ongoing efforts to train medical professionals using the latest methods and technologies in diabetes care, society's vice president Saud Alsifri said. He noted that the event provides key updates in the fields of endocrinology, diabetes, and obesity for healthcare practitioners, while highlighting the Kingdom's efforts to address endocrine disorders, diabetes, and obesity. MEDOC26 features scientific working sessions focusing on diabetes and obesity as well as the latest therapeutic approaches to combating obesity. The first session was dedicated to blood sugar control through redefining glycemic management, while the second session discussed obesity treatments and anti-obesity medications in chronic weight management. The congress is being held to strengthen continuing medical education, promo te the exchange of expertise, and provide a professional platform that brings together specialists, decision-makers, and researchers. The goal is to accelerate the translation of knowledge into tangible health outcomes in daily clinical practice and quality of care.
