Mild Weather Spurs Tourism Growth in Qassim Region

Buraidah:Qassim With mild autumn weather prevailing, the Qassim Region is witnessing a surge in rural and recreational tourism. Farms, parks, and natural desert landscapes are becoming popular attractions for families and visitors from both within and outside the region, capitalizing on Qassim's natural and agricultural assets.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Qassim's central location in the Kingdom, along with its well-developed road network and transport infrastructure, makes destinations across Buraidah and the region's governorates easily accessible. These include rural farms, desert sites, public parks, and heritage landmarks, offering experiences suited to a wide range of interests.

Rural farms have emerged as prominent tourist attractions, with several agricultural sites transformed into hospitality and leisure destinations. These feature cafés and seating areas overlooking palm groves and open landscapes, with notable examples including Asib Rural Farm, Al-Bustan Rural Farm, Palm Promenade, and Nakhla. These sites blend traditional agricultural settings with recreational services and opportunities for relaxation.

The region also boasts outdoor destinations such as Al-Ghadha Park in Unaizah and Asilan in Buraidah, which are popular with visitors seeking excursions and outdoor activities. Public parks and gardens provide additional options for families, including King Abdullah Park and Al-Iskan Park in Buraidah, Al-Ashrafiya Park in Unaizah, and Al-Mahfal Park in Al-Rass.

Seasonal festivals and events further enrich Qassim's tourism offerings. The Buraidah Dates Carnival, Klija Festival, and Hanini Festival attract visitors, stimulate commercial activity, and showcase local products and cultural heritage. Camel auctions, such as the Madraj Camel Auction and Unaizah Camel Auction District, also reflect the region's economic traditions and deep-rooted heritage.

The variety of tourism destinations in Qassim offers opportunities to develop rural tourism projects and related services, encouraging small businesses and entrepreneurs to participate in the sector. These efforts align with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to develop tourism, enhance the quality of life, and diversify economic activities.
