Riyadh: Minister of Human Resources and Social Development and Chairman of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health Ahmed Al-Rajhi has launched the 'Regulation on the Organization of Work in High-Risk Occupations'. The regulation is designed to organize licensing and accreditation procedures for individuals and establishments involved in occupational safety and health (OSH). It also aims to ensure the quality of services and improve the competence of practitioners and specialized establishments. According to Saudi Press Agency, the regulation seeks to enhance the quality and efficiency of OSH services. It plans to establish an integrated system for licensing and accreditation, which includes both individuals and establishments. This system will define the necessary technical, regulatory, and qualification requirements and standards, thereby improving governance and compliance with national standards. The regulation encompasses licensing and accreditation of establishments operating in OSH fie lds, consulting services, training establishments, and e-learning platforms. It sets classification and licensing standards for individuals within two primary tracks: the professional track and the practitioner track. This is intended to ensure the readiness and competence of workers providing OSH services at a high level of quality. The launch of this regulation represents a significant step toward strengthening the culture of occupational safety and health across various sectors. It reflects the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health's commitment to applying the highest national standards and supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which focus on improving work environments, raising productivity, and protecting lives and property.
