Riyadh: Minister of Human Resources and Social Development and Chairman of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health Ahmed Al-Rajhi has launched the 'Regulation on the Organization of Work in High-Risk Occupations." This initiative is designed to organize the licensing and accreditation procedures for individuals and establishments involved in occupational safety and health (OSH). The goal is to ensure service quality and enhance the competence of practitioners and specialized establishments.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the regulation aims to elevate the quality and efficiency of OSH services through an integrated system for licensing and accreditation. It encompasses individuals and establishments by defining technical, regulatory, and qualification requirements and standards. This approach is intended to enhance governance and compliance with national standards related to OSH.
The new regulation covers various aspects, including the licensing and accreditation of establishments working in OSH fields, consulting services, training establishments, and e-learning platforms. It sets classification and licensing standards for individuals along two main tracks: the professional track and the practitioner track. This is to ensure the readiness and competence of workers who provide OSH services at a high level of quality.
The launch of the regulation is viewed as a crucial step in strengthening the culture of occupational safety and health across sectors. It reflects the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health's commitment to applying the highest national standards. Furthermore, it supports the targets of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to improve work environments, increase productivity, and protect lives and property.
